Jammu and Kashmir weather update predicts rain and hailstorm before dry spell begins

SRINAGAR, May 30, 2026 :- The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has forecast brief spells of rain, thundershowers, hailstorms, and gusty winds across scattered to many places in Jammu and Kashmir today.

Weather officials also issued an advisory warning of potential thunder, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in a few areas during the afternoon.Following today’s volatile weather, a generally dry spell is expected across the region from May 31 to June 3.

However, weather officials noted that brief, isolated spells of rain or thundershowers cannot be ruled out during the late afternoon hours during this period.The weather is expected to change again between June 4 and June 5, bringing partly cloudy skies along with brief spells of rain, thundershowers, and gusty winds to scattered locations.

Generally cloudy conditions with brief showers are anticipated on June 6, before a return to stable, dry weather conditions on June 7 and June 8.
