Fatal truck accident on Jammu Srinagar National Highway leaves two dead
RAMBAN, May 30, 2026:- Two people died after a truck skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, plunged into a deep gorge, and caught fire near Gangroo in the Ramsoo area of Ramban district.
The vehicle reportedly went out of the driver’s control while traveling on the highway and rolled down the gorge before being quickly engulfed in flames.
Local volunteers, police, and rescue teams rushed to the accident site to launch a rescue operation. After emergency responders brought the fire under control, they recovered two charred bodies from the burnt wreckage of the truck.
The deceased are believed to be the occupants of the truck, though authorities have not yet established their identities.
Police have registered the case and started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
