Security forces recover large cache of weapons and explosives in Churachandpur district

CHURACHANDPUR, May 27, 2026 — Security forces recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during a search operation in the forest area of Hengkot village under the Churachandpur police station limits.

The recovery, which took place on May 26, included an assortment of firearms such as an MK-II rifle, an AK-47 rifle with two magazines, a .303 rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and several country-made weapons including a .22 rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and a .22 sniper rifle.

Additionally, the joint team seized two SBML guns and one SBBL gun from the hidden location.Apart from the firearms, the security teams found five improvised explosive devices, a country-made Lathod launcher, 13 empty 12-bore cartridges, and three live 12-bore rounds.

The search operation also yielded operational equipment, including two wireless communication handsets, two magazine pouches, a camouflage hat, and two pairs of camouflage jungle boots.

Authorities have secured the area, and further investigation is underway to determine the origin and intended destination of the hidden arsenal.
