Delhi Airport conducts Agni Chakra full scale aircraft crash mock drill

NEW DELHI, May 12, 2026 — A full-scale aircraft crash exercise titled Agni Chakra was successfully conducted at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

The drill was held under the direct supervision of the Commandant/QRT along with other senior officers from the Central Industrial Security Force and various stakeholder agencies to test the hub’s emergency readiness.

The comprehensive exercise involved personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting, Delhi Police, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad.

Medical teams, airline representatives, and ground handling agencies also participated in the simulation to ensure a coordinated response to a potential aviation crisis.

During the drill, Central Industrial Security Force personnel demonstrated swift and effective action by immediately cordoning off the simulated crash site and managing strict access control.

These teams played a vital role in assisting with rescue and evacuation operations, showcasing their ability to maintain order during high-pressure scenarios.

The Agni Chakra exercise served as a critical assessment of inter-agency communication, casualty handling, and overall crisis management protocols.

The successful completion of the drill reaffirms the preparedness of the Central Industrial Security Force and its partners in ensuring the safety and security of one of the busiest airports in the world.
