JKESL Udhampur holds drug awareness rally and plantation drive at High School Bali
UDHAMPUR, MAY 11: Following the 100-day pledge for a drug-free region initiated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Jammu and Kashmir Ex-services League (JKESL) Udhampur organized a Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan awareness rally at Government High School Bali today.
Presided over by Vice President of the Indian Ex-Services League, Dalbir Singh Bhatyal, the event focused on educating youth about the destructive nature of substance abuse. Bhatyal encouraged students to maintain disciplined lives and reaffirmed the league’s mission to spread the anti-drug message across every village and educational institution in the district.
The ceremony also served as a platform to recognize academic excellence, with the top three performers from the Class 10th examinations being honored. Students Ashan Bibi, Anjali Devi, and Radhika Manhas received certificates of appreciation and medals for their outstanding results.
Beyond the anti-drug campaign, JKESL members joined school staff and students in a plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, promoting environmental conservation as a tribute to motherhood and the earth.
The program saw participation from several prominent ex-service members and school officials, including Incharge Headmaster Shiv Kumar and teachers Anju Jamwal and Vijay Luxmi.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to the school administration for supporting the initiative, noting that community involvement is essential for the success of social welfare programs.
The event concluded with a collective commitment from students and staff to support the ongoing 100-day mission for a healthier and drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
