Satish Sharma reviews facilities at Kheer Bhawani and Mir Baba Hyder shrines
SRINAGAR May 10, 2026 :- Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Transport, Satish Sharma, visited the Kheer Bhawani shrine at Tulmulla and the Mir Baba Hyder shrine today to review infrastructure and pilgrimage preparations.
During his visit, he assessed the arrangements for the upcoming annual Kheer Bhawani Mela, directing various departments to finalize plans for sanitation, healthcare, security, and uninterrupted utilities.
He specifically instructed the Transport Department to provide seamless bus connectivity from multiple locations to ensure a hassle-free experience for the large number of devotees expected to attend.
While at the Mir Baba Hyder shrine, the Minister emphasized the government’s shift toward sustainable development by ordering the solarization of the shrine complex.
He also called for immediate improvements to public convenience facilities and lighting to enhance the experience for visitors.
Sharma noted that preserving the spiritual heritage of Jammu and Kashmir remains a top priority for the administration, which is committed to maintaining the religious ethos of these revered sites through improved civic amenities.
Beyond infrastructure reviews, the Minister met with several public delegations and young sportspersons to discuss community welfare and local development.
He listened to concerns regarding sports infrastructure and reaffirmed the government’s goal of strengthening facilities for youth engagement.
Sharma assured the representatives that their grievances would be examined and addressed promptly to ensure better services and opportunities across the region.
