Udhampur Police Organize Drug Awareness Session at Government High School Ghar Katyas

DUDU, May 05 — In a persistent effort to combat substance abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, the Udhampur Police conducted a dedicated drug awareness program at Government High School, Ghar Katyas.

The initiative focused on educating the younger generation about the increasing dangers of narcotics and the importance of community vigilance. Students and faculty members participated in the session, which detailed how drug dependency negatively impacts physical health, mental stability, and the overall harmony of the social fabric.

During the event, police officials encouraged participants to act as ambassadors for a healthy lifestyle and to lead the charge in spreading awareness within their families and neighborhoods. The program emphasized that students have a crucial role in identifying the signs of substance abuse among peers and preventing the spread of addiction.

By engaging with educational institutions, the authorities aim to build a strong foundation of resistance against illegal drugs at the grassroots level.

The Udhampur Police concluded the session by reaffirming their dual strategy of social outreach and strict law enforcement.

While awareness drives like the one at Ghar Katyas aim to reduce demand through education, the department remains committed to taking firm action against those involved in drug peddling.

This community-centric approach is part of a larger regional mission to eradicate the drug menace and ensure a safer, healthier future for the youth of the district.
