Army Air Defence College culminates long air defence course for Indian and international officers

GOPALPUR, May 5, 2026 — The Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur marked the conclusion of its Long Air Defence Course today with a formal graduation ceremony.

The intensive 44-week program included Indian Army officers alongside six officers from friendly foreign nations, including Botswana, Ghana, Myanmar, Nepal, and Malaysia.

The training focused on the technical and tactical complexities of the latest Ground Based Air Defence Systems, designed to prepare participants for innovative and technology-driven roles in the modern evolving battlefield.

During the event, top achievers were recognized for their outstanding performance throughout the rigorous curriculum. Akshay Patil was awarded the prestigious Vayu Raksha Trophy, while Sumit Kumar received the Commandant’s Trophy.

The awards were presented by RC Srikanth, Commandant of the Army Air Defence College, who felicitated the winners for their dedication.

The course is a critical part of strengthening international military cooperation and ensuring that personnel are equipped to safeguard skies against contemporary and futuristic aerial threats.
