Anantnag Police bust narco hideout in Srigufwara and recover large quantity of Charas
ANANTNAG, MAY 4: In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking, Anantnag Police busted a concealed narcotics hideout in the Srigufwara area today.
The operation was conducted as part of an investigation into an existing narcotics case, following a search warrant obtained from the Court of JMIC Bijbehara for the residential premises of an accused individual, Abdul Rashid Bhat, in Shitipora. During the professional search operation, police detected a hidden storage area used for stashing illicit substances.
The search led to the recovery and seizure of approximately 3.9 kilograms of a substance resembling charas. To ensure a thorough and scientific investigation, the police utilized a K9 squad to assist in locating the contraband within the premises. All legal formalities were completed on-site, and the recovered drugs were taken into custody as evidence.
Anantnag Police reaffirmed their commitment to a drug-free society and urged the public to continue providing information on narcotics peddling to help eliminate the menace from the region.
