Pulwama Police Arrest Terrorist Associate and Seize Arms in Major Operation

PULWAMA, May 02, 2026 :- Pulwama Police, in a joint operation with 44 RR Shadimarg and CRPF 183 Bn, has successfully apprehended a terrorist associate, marking a significant blow to the local terror network.

The operation took place at Qasbayar on the CB Nath Road, where the joint security team intercepted the suspect. The individual has been identified as Mohd Umar Malik, son of Abdul Majeed Malik, a resident of Kachipora.

During the search of the apprehended individual, security forces recovered a cache of incriminating materials, including a Star pistol, a pistol magazine, two live rounds, and two hand grenades. This recovery has prevented potential subversive activities in the region, as the police continue to dismantle the support structures that sustain militancy.

Following the arrest and recovery of explosives, a case has been registered under FIR No. 75/2026 at Police Station Rajpora. The charges include relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. An intensive investigation has been launched to uncover further links within the network.

Pulwama Police has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy regarding terrorism and has called upon the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
