Union Ministers Lead Sundays on Cycle Rally in Srinagar to Champion Fitness and Sustainability

SRINAGAR, APRIL 26: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Jammu and Kashmir Minister Satish Sharma spearheaded the Sundays on Cycle – Special Edition (Chintan Shivir 2026) in Srinagar today.

The event aimed to promote physical fitness and environmental sustainability as part of the broader Viksit Bharat Vision. Starting from the Police Golf Course and concluding at the Royal Spring Golf Course, the rally saw large-scale participation from local youth, sports enthusiasts, and government officials, all united in a collective effort to foster a healthier and more active society.

During the interaction, the dignitaries emphasized that cycling serves as a dual-purpose tool for enhancing personal well-being and reducing carbon footprints.

Dr. Mandaviya and Satish Sharma highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure, particularly in rural and border regions, to encourage widespread athletic participation.

They urged citizens to integrate cycling into their daily lives to support a cleaner environment. The event concluded with participants taking a formal pledge to adopt sustainable living practices and contribute to the nation’s progress through a culture of fitness.
