Kishtwar SSP Conducts Comprehensive District Crime Review and Bolsters Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan

KISHTWAR, April 23, 2026 — Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, chaired a high-level district crime and security review meeting today at the District Police Office to evaluate operational readiness and the progress of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan.

The session focused on strengthening the security grid and ensuring the effective implementation of crime control measures across the sub-divisions of Kishtwar, Chatroo, Atholi, and Marwah.

During the briefing, the SSP reviewed the status of pending investigations, urging officers to expedite case disposals and maintain high professional standards to ensure legal accountability and timely justice.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the district’s intensified crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse. SSP Singh directed officers to sharpen enforcement under the NDPS Act, dismantle drug peddling networks, and expand community awareness programs to achieve the goals of a drug-free society.

Additionally, the security review covered area domination strategies, night patrolling, and coordination with the CRPF and other central forces. Officers were instructed to remain vigilant in sensitive sectors like Chatroo and Marwah, particularly regarding counter-militancy preparedness and bovine smuggling, while emphasizing the importance of community policing and actionable intelligence to preserve peace and order.
