Poonch Police Educates Young Students on Narcotics Risks Through Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Awareness Drive
SURANKOTE, April 19, 2026:-The District Police Poonch continued its proactive campaign against substance abuse by organizing a specialized awareness session at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Surankote under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
Led by officers from the Surankote Police Station and supported by lady police officials, the program focused on educating approximately 100 girl students about the physical, psychological, and social dangers associated with drug addiction.
The interactive session was designed to empower young minds with the knowledge needed to resist peer pressure and understand the long-term legal consequences of narcotics involvement, while simultaneously promoting the benefits of maintaining a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
During the event, school principal Rubia Chib lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their consistent efforts in reaching out to educational institutions to safeguard the future of the younger generation. The initiative reflects the broader commitment of the Poonch Police to utilize community engagement as a primary tool for eradicating the drug menace.
