Udhampur Police Expand Drug Awareness Campaign Across Basantgarh Majalta and Panchari
UDHAMPUR, April 19, 2026:- Udhampur Police has significantly scaled up its public outreach efforts under the 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan by organizing series of drug awareness programs across multiple locations, including Basantgarh, Majalta, and Panchari.
In Basantgarh, a specialized session was conducted at Loudhra under the supervision of DySP PC Basantgarh, where local residents were sensitized about the detrimental effects of narcotics on personal health and community well-being.
Participants were briefed on the stringent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and were encouraged to play an active role in reporting illegal activities to help build a cleaner society.
The campaign extended to Battal Bazar in Majalta and the villages of Latiyar and Summon in Panchari, where local police stations hosted interactive camps to educate the public on the long-term consequences of substance abuse.
Throughout these sessions, police officials emphasized that preventing drug misuse requires a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the civilian population.
Udhampur Police reaffirmed its dedication to this cause, stating that these educational initiatives will continue alongside strict enforcement actions to ensure the district remains a drug-free zone and to safeguard the future of the local youth.
