KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir Division for Maintenance
SRINAGAR, April 09, 2026: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has notified consumers of several scheduled power shutdowns across various districts to facilitate essential maintenance and line works.
According to the Chief Engineer of Distribution, the 33 kV Arampora-Bandipora line will experience a shutdown on April 11, 2026, from 09 AM to 03 PM, affecting power supply to Dooru, Dangerpora, Shiva, Mundji, Watlab, Kunusa, Botingoo, Hathlangoo, Tujjar, Harwan, and surrounding areas. Similarly, the 33 kV Kanipora-Pinjora line is scheduled for outages on April 12, 15, and 18 from 09 AM to 03:30 PM, which will impact electricity services in Arhama, Shopian Town, Bongam, Pinjoora, Pahnoo, Killora, Imamsahib, Vehil, Nowgam, Reshinagri, and Kachdoora.
In Budgam, the 33 kV SIDCO Tapline will remain shut on April 12 from 10 AM to 03 PM, affecting Ompora Housing Colony, NIFT, SIDCO, Mohanpora, and Sheikhpora. Residents in Srinagar will also face disruptions as the 132/33 kV GIS Khanyar undergoes maintenance on April 12 and 13 from 09 AM to 03 PM; this will impact the Industrial Estate BAMK, Zadibal, Hawal, Rainawari, Central Jail, and the Psychiatric Hospital, among other adjoining localities.
Furthermore, the Executive Engineer of the Load Dispatch Centre Division, Bemina, confirmed a shutdown of the 33 kV Achabal-Cherpora tapline on April 11 from 09 AM to 03 PM, affecting Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, and Cherpora. Consumers are advised to plan accordingly for these temporary interruptions in power supply.
