Lucknow Airport Security Boost: CISF and IAF Conduct Specialized Drone Threat Awareness Session

Lucknow , April 04, 2026 — In a proactive move to fortify civil aviation defenses, the Aviation Security Group (ASG) at Lucknow Airport hosted a comprehensive “Aerial and Drone Threat Awareness Session” to sensitize Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel to emerging risks.

The specialized training, delivered by expert officers from the Indian Air Force (IAF) MEMAURA station, was conducted in the presence of Senior Commandant and Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO), Sh. Anup Kumar.

This high-level engagement underscores the robust inter-agency synergy between the CISF and the IAF, aimed at enhancing operational preparedness to counter increasingly sophisticated aerial challenges in the aviation sector.

The session provided a deep dive into the technical and tactical aspects of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), covering foundational drone applications and operational familiarization.

Security personnel were briefed on critical aerial threat response mechanisms and the latest advancements in anti-drone technologies, including integrated counter-drone systems designed to intercept unauthorized incursions.

By bridging the gap between traditional security protocols and modern technological threats, the training ensured that ground teams are equipped with the knowledge to identify and neutralize drone-enabled risks before they compromise airport safety.

This collaborative initiative has significantly strengthened the situational awareness and tactical readiness of the CISF contingent stationed at Lucknow Airport.

By reinforcing its commitment to securing critical national infrastructure, the CISF continues to evolve its defensive strategies against the shifting landscape of civil aviation security.

The successful completion of this session marks a milestone in ongoing efforts to integrate advanced surveillance and counter-measure technologies, ensuring a secure and resilient environment for travelers and aviation stakeholders alike.
