CHANDIMANDIR | April 3, 2026 To commemorate the solemn occasion of the 262nd Army Medical Corps (AMC) Corps Day, a poignant wreath-laying ceremony was held at Veer Smriti, the War Memorial in Chandimandir, to honor the “brave hearts” who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
The ceremony served as a tribute to the enduring legacy of the AMC, which has provided critical medical support and life-saving care to the Indian Armed Forces for over two and a half centuries.During the event, high-ranking officials including the MG (Med) of HQ Western Command, the Commandant of Command Hospital (WC), and the Subedar Major paid their respects by laying wreaths at the memorial.
The gathering included a distinguished assembly of officers and troops from the Command Hospital and the Medical Branch of HQ Western Command, all joining together to uphold the tradition of honoring martyrs.
This 262nd anniversary reinforces the corps’ motto of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be free from disease) while acknowledging the valor of those who served on the frontlines of both healthcare and combat.
