Jammu Cyber Police Intensify Crackdown on Fraudsters: Millions Recovered and Multiple Arrests Made in 2026

JAMMU, April 3, 2026 — In a major offensive against organized digital crime, the Cyber Police Station Jammu has successfully dismantled several cyber fraud networks during the first quarter of 2026, leading to the recovery of over Rs. 3.52 crore in siphoned funds. Under the leadership of SP Ops Jammu, Kameshwar Puri, and assisted by DySP Rohit Chadgal, the department conducted high-intensity, coordinated raids across state lines, resulting in the arrest of five high-profile fraudsters from various states.

Throughout this period, the specialized team managed a staggering volume of 1,916 complaints and 11 cases, successfully disposing of a significant portion of the backlog while also recovering 42 missing mobile phones valued at Rs. 8.4 lakh. Beyond enforcement, the station has prioritized community resilience by conducting 23 cyber-safety awareness programs and mentoring Central University students through practical internships.

As scammers increasingly pivot toward sophisticated “Digital Arrests,” AI-driven voice cloning, and fraudulent investment schemes by impersonating agencies like the CBI and NCB, authorities urge the public to remain vigilant. Citizens are reminded to report any suspicious activity to the national helpline 1930 within the “golden hour” or via the official government portal at www.cybercrime.gov.in to ensure the best chance of freezing illicit transactions.
