Doda Police Solve Office Burglary in Six Hours; Suspect Arrested and Stolen Cash Recovered
DODA, April 01, 2026:- In a swift and efficient operation, the Doda Police successfully cracked a cash theft case within just six hours of the report, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect and the full recovery of the stolen funds.
The incident came to light on April 1, 2026, when a local resident, Abid Hussain, filed a formal complaint at the District Hospital (DH) Police Post. Mr. Hussain reported that ₹80,000 had been stolen from his office located in the Nagri area, near the JK Bank ATM, on the night of March 28, 2026.
Following the initial report, Police Station Doda formally registered FIR No. 73/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Under the direct supervision and guidance of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), a specialized investigation team led by the SHO of Police Station Doda was immediately mobilized.
By leveraging tactical resources and diligent field investigation, the team tracked down the perpetrator and secured the stolen cash in record time.The accused has been identified as Mashqoor Ahmed, son of Mohd. Yousuf, a resident of Sawni, Ramban, currently residing in Nagri, Doda. With the suspect now in custody, the police are continuing their investigation to finalize the legal proceedings.
