J&K Minister Javed Ahmed Rana Meets Public Delegations; Assures Release of JJM Payments and Infrastructure Upgrades

JAMMU APRIL 02, 2026:-Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today held a series of high-level meetings with various public delegations to address pressing regional concerns and administrative bottlenecks.

A primary focus of the day was a meeting with the Contractors Co-ordination Committee (CCC), who raised the critical issue of delayed payments under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across the Union Territory.

The delegation urged the Minister to expedite the signing of the reform-linked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the timely release of funds, ensuring that pending liabilities are cleared and vital water infrastructure projects can proceed without further interruption.

In addition to the contractors’ grievances, the Minister received delegations from Samba, Reasi, Kishtwar, and other districts, each projecting specific localized demands.

Key issues brought to the table included the urgent need for protective bunds to safeguard agricultural land and infrastructure from erosion, as well as the development of modern drainage systems to combat waterlogging and sanitation problems.

A separate delegation from the PHE Division Kishtwar specifically sought the immediate release of long-pending wages for workers. Individual service matters pertaining to the Minister’s various departments were also presented during the day-long interaction.

Responding to the diverse range of issues, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana assured the delegations that all genuine concerns would be examined with the utmost priority. He issued immediate directives to the concerned departmental authorities to initiate necessary actions for timely resolution.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to grassroots development, the Minister emphasized that focused efforts are underway to strengthen basic infrastructure and ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach every region of Jammu and Kashmir effectively.
