JJM Dardpora Water Supply Scheme Nears 80% Completion; 2,165 Households to Benefit

JAMMU, APRIL 02, 2026: During the ongoing Budget Session, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, announced that the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) for Dardpora village is nearing completion.

Replying to a Calling Attention Motion moved by MLA Mir Saifullah, the Minister confirmed that the project is being executed under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) at an approved cost of ₹980.19 lakh. With approximately 80 percent physical progress already achieved, the scheme is set to provide adequate and sustainable drinking water to 2,165 households across the region, ensuring long-term water security for all panchayat halqas in the area.

Detailing the current water distribution status in the Trehgam Constituency, Minister Rana explained that while Panchayat Halqas C, D, and E are already receiving piped water through existing schemes like Panzgam, Reddi Rashi Mohalla, and WSS Banjerpati, Halqas A and B have faced lower service levels.

To bridge this gap in the interim, the government has been deploying water tankers to meet local demand. He emphasized that the new Dardpora project is being monitored closely to ensure a time-bound delivery, aiming to eliminate current shortages and provide a robust water infrastructure for the entire village population.
