J&K Weather Alert: Erratic Rain and Snow Predicted Until April 10; Advisory Issued for Farmers and Travelers

SRINAGAR, April 2, 2026 — The Meteorological Centre (Met) in Srinagar has issued a comprehensive weather update via X (formerly Twitter), warning residents of Jammu and Kashmir to prepare for continued erratic weather conditions through April 10.

According to the forecast, the region will experience intermittent light to moderate rain and snow across most locations on April 3 and 4, accompanied by thunder, hail, and gusty winds.

While many areas will see moderate activity, higher reaches are expected to receive heavy snowfall during this period. After a brief transition, another spell of rain and snow is projected to impact many parts of the union territory between April 7 and 9.

In light of these conditions, authorities have issued a formal advisory highlighting the risk of landslides in vulnerable spots and potential waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Farmers are strongly urged to suspend all agricultural operations until the weather stabilizes, while travelers are advised to check road conditions and plan their journeys carefully to avoid disruptions caused by the inclement weather.
