JPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdown in Jammu: Transport Nagar, Narwal, and Bathindi Among Affected Areas

JAMMU, APRIL 01, 2026: The Chief Engineer (Distribution) of JPDCL Jammu has issued a formal notification regarding scheduled power outages in several key sectors to facilitate essential maintenance and system upgrades.

Residents and businesses in Transport Nagar, Narwal, Railway Colony, Upper Chowadi, Malik Market, and parts of Channi Himmat should prepare for supply interruptions on April 02 and April 04. In these localities, as well as Matto Colony, Bathindi, and Sunjwan, the electricity will be suspended between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Additionally, a short-duration curtailment will specifically affect Bathindi, Sunjwan, and their immediate vicinities on the same dates from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM and again from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.

The power maintenance schedule also extends to the border and suburban belts on the following day. On April 03, the electricity supply to BSF Rajpura, Lala Chak, Mawa, Sanoora, Badyal, and Sujana will be temporarily disconnected from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The JPDCL administration has advised consumers in the affected regions to plan their activities accordingly and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by these necessary technical improvements aimed at strengthening the power distribution network across the Jammu district.
