Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh Assumes Command as GOC-in-C of Western Command
CHANDIMANDIR | April 1, 2026 — Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM, officially took over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Western Command today, marking a significant leadership transition for one of the Indian Army’s most critical operational hubs.
Upon his arrival at the Chandimandir Military Station, the General Officer commenced his tenure with a solemn ceremony at the Western Command War Memorial, where he laid a wreath to pay tribute to the “Bravehearts” who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
Following the memorial service, Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh reviewed a traditional Guard of Honour, signaling the formal commencement of his command.
As he steps into this prestigious role, he brings a wealth of combat experience and strategic expertise to oversee the security and operational preparedness of the Western Front.
