Commercial LPG Prices Hiked by Rs 195.50 as West Asia Conflict Rattles Global Oil Markets
NEW DELHI, April 1, 2026 — State-owned oil marketing companies have announced a sharp increase in the price of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 195.50, effective Wednesday.
This significant hike is a direct consequence of soaring global crude oil prices, which have jumped nearly 50% following supply chain disruptions caused by the widening conflict in West Asia.
Under the new pricing structure, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital will now cost Rs 2,078.50, marking a steep upward trend following a previous increase of Rs 114.50 on March 1.
While the hike places a heavier burden on the hospitality and industrial sectors, domestic consumers have received a temporary reprieve.
Rates for domestic cooking gas (LPG) remain unchanged at Rs 913 per 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi, with the last price adjustment occurring on March 7.
According to officials from Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum, these monthly revisions for Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and LPG are dictated by international benchmarks and fluctuating currency exchange rates.
Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices in Delhi stay frozen at Rs 94.72 and Rs 87.62 per litre, respectively, maintaining the levels set after a minor price cut in March of the previous year.
