Tawi River Tragedy: Bodies of Three Missing Boys Recovered Near Nagrota
Jammu March 31, 2026 — A somber atmosphere has engulfed Jagti Colony following the recovery of the bodies of three young boys who drowned in the Tawi River near Sainik School, Nagrota.
The victims, identified as Sonam Dutt, son of Sunny Dutt; Bavish Koul, son of Manohar Nath Koul; and Aditya Pandit, son of Shahji Pandit, had gone missing on Sunday afternoon while playing in a park near their residence.
The alarm was raised around 4:30 PM when the children failed to return home, prompting an immediate and frantic search by family members and local authorities.
The rescue operation, which saw a coordinated effort between the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers, was initiated after police discovered the boys had entered the river and were swept away by a powerful current.
While the bodies of Bavish Koul and Aditya Pandit were retrieved shortly after the search began, the operation for the third victim, Sonam Dutt, continued through the night under challenging conditions.
His body was finally recovered earlier today, marking a tragic conclusion to the rescue mission and bringing a painful closure to the grieving families and the local community.
