Lt Gen Anoop Shinghal Takes Charge as DG Artillery After Transformative Tenure as DG Recruiting

NEW DELHI, March 31, 2026 — In a significant leadership transition within the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Anoop Shinghal, AVSM, SM, officially relinquished his charge as Director General (DG) of Recruiting on March 30, 2026.

His departure marks the conclusion of a distinguished tenure characterized by a sharp strategic vision and the implementation of wide-ranging transformative reforms. Under his command, the Army’s recruitment processes underwent a digital overhaul, becoming notably more efficient, transparent, and technology-driven to meet the needs of a modernizing force.
