NCB Leads High-Level Anti-Narcotics Coordination Meeting for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh to Target Drug Networks

CHANDIAGRH, March 29,2026 :- In a major move to fortify the regional crackdown on drug trafficking, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) convened the quarterly state-level Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting in Chandigarh.

Chaired by the Deputy Director General (DDG) of the NCB’s Northwest Region, the session brought together senior officials from Punjab, Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh to synchronize intelligence operations and enforcement strategies against evolving narco-threats.

The high-level meeting, conducted in a hybrid format, saw active participation from Anti-Narcotics Task Forces (ANTFs), State Drug Controllers, and representatives from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

A primary focus of the discussion was the review of ongoing critical investigations and the identification of gaps in inter-agency cooperation.

By pooling resources and expertise, the agencies aim to create a unified front that makes it increasingly difficult for drug syndicates to operate across state borders.

Beyond immediate enforcement, the committee emphasized the sharing of best legal practices to ensure higher conviction rates for offenders.

Significant attention was also given to international cooperation, specifically discussing the mechanisms for issuing Interpol Blue and Red Corner Notices to track and apprehend narco-offenders fleeing across international borders.

This strategic collaboration underscores a renewed commitment to a “zero-tolerance” policy toward drugs, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for the residents of the tri-state region.
