Punjab Police Bust Interstate Weapon Module: Counter Intelligence Arrests Two with UP Links

JALANDHAR, March 26, 2026:- In a major blow to the cross-border terror-gangster nexus, the Counter Intelligence wing of Jalandhar has successfully dismantled an interstate illegal weapons supply module.

During a targeted operation, authorities apprehended two suspects hailing from Uttar Pradesh and recovered a significant cache of arms, including 10 country-made pistols (7.65 MM) and 20 magazines. Preliminary investigations reveal that these individuals were acting as a critical supply link for criminal gangs operating within Punjab, operating under the direct instructions of foreign-based handlers situated in Germany and the USA.

This crackdown is part of a broader effort to sever the logistical chains that fuel organized crime and militancy in the region. The investigation has further exposed a chilling connection to a series of high-profile terror activities.

The arrested duo is linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives who were previously detained for planting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and grenades near Balachaur.

Notably, that same IED was later utilized in a blast at the Nalagarh Police Station in Himachal Pradesh. Beyond explosives, the network was involved in violent extortion schemes, including a firing incident at a travel agent’s residence in Garshankar.

A formal case has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar, as Punjab Police continue their intensive probe to completely dismantle the remaining fragments of this international criminal network and ensure public Saftey.
