Pulwama Police Seize Vehicles in Crackdown on Illegal Mining at Romshi Nallah
PULWAMA, Mar 26: In a continued effort to dismantle illegal mining operations within the district, the Pulwama Police conducted a successful raid at Romshi Nallah in the Rahmoo area.
During the operation, law enforcement officers intercepted and seized two tractors that were operating without registration number plates while engaged in the unauthorized extraction of minerals.
This action is part of a sustained departmental drive aimed at protecting local natural resources and enforcing environmental regulations against sand and mineral smuggling.
Following the seizure, a formal case has been registered at Police Station Rajpora under FIR No. 39/2026. The charges include Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PPD) Act.
While a detailed investigation is currently underway to identify the owners of the unregistered vehicles, the Pulwama Police have issued a stern warning against such unlawful activities.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing the mining menace and are urging the general public to assist by reporting any suspicious or unauthorized extraction activities to their nearest police station.
