Baramulla Police Neutralize Live Artillery Shell Found Near Line of Control in Uri
SRINAGAR March 25, 2026:- The Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully averted a potential tragedy today by safely disposing of a live artillery shell discovered in the border district of Baramulla.
Following a specific tip-off regarding the presence of unexploded ordnance in the Kalgai forest area, located near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector, a specialized police team was immediately dispatched to the site.
Upon arrival, security forces cordoned off the forest zone and implemented strict precautionary measures to ensure the safety of nearby residents and prevents any accidental detonation.To manage the high-risk situation, a professional Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) from the Baramulla Police was deployed to the scene.
The experts meticulously neutralized the live shell on-site, following all established safety protocols for handling explosive materials. Officials confirmed that the controlled disposal was completed without any injury or damage to property.
