Rajouri March 24, 2026 — Marking a major boost for regional growth, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted a whirlwind developmental tour of Nowshera today, inaugurating several high-impact projects and laying foundation stones for essential infrastructure.

The visit began with a spiritual note as the Deputy Chief Minister paid obeisance at Gari Mata Mandir and Thakurdawara Mandir, praying for the peace and prosperity of the Union Territory.

A central highlight of the day was the inauguration of a Mega Job Fair at Dak Bungalow Nowshera, designed as a strategic platform to connect local youth with potential employers and bridge the employment gap in the border district.

The Deputy Chief Minister significantly addressed the region’s power and connectivity needs by laying the foundation stones for two critical 3.15 MVA, 33/11 KV Receiving Stations at Hastanagurah (Gagrote) and Kuldabi.

These facilities are set to stabilize the local grid and ensure a more reliable electricity supply for thousands of households. On the connectivity front, he inaugurated the road from Gagrote to Shamshan Ghat and initiated the ₹228 lakh upgradation project for the road from Main Road Sehal to Guard Mohalla.

These roadworks, executed by the PWD (R&B), are expected to transform local transit and improve access to basic services for remote habitations.Throughout the day, Surinder Choudhary held multiple public outreach programs at Gagrote, Ram Mandir, and Behanigala to directly engage with residents regarding civic amenities and administrative grievances.

Accompanied by senior officials including ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa and Joint Director Mining Fareed Kohli, the Deputy Chief Minister reassured the public that the government is committed to responsive governance and inclusive development.

He emphasized that these initiatives are part of a broader resolve to modernize basic infrastructure while maintaining a transparent, people-centric approach to district administration.
