Udhampur Honors National Legacy with Special ‘Vande Mataram @150’ Campaign Launch

UDHAMPUR, March 23, 2026 — Commemorating a century and a half of India’s iconic national song, the District Administration of Udhampur today launched a special phase of the “Vande Mataram @150” campaign.

The event, held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, was organized under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa and presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Prem Singh.

The gathering brought together a diverse group of participants, including high-ranking district officials such as ACR Dr. Umesh Shan and CPO Uttam Singh, as well as students, faculty, and the families of martyrs, all united in a tribute to the nation’s patriotic heritage.During the ceremony, ADC Prem Singh paid a moving tribute to the freedom fighters whose ultimate sacrifices paved the way for India’s independence.

He announced that this special phase would trigger a series of patriotic activities and cultural programs throughout the district to ensure the message of the national song reaches every citizen.

Emphasizing that the celebration should be a reflection of India’s “Unity in Diversity,” he urged all stakeholders to participate actively in the upcoming events.

The program reached a high note as students from Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School performed a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, infusing the venue with a deep sense of national pride and fervor.
