Sanyukt Prashikshan: Indian Army Launches First-of-its-Kind Jointness Training Program for Civil-Military Integration

NEW DELHI, March 23, 2026 — In a landmark move toward achieving a “Whole of Nation” approach to national security, the Indian Army has launched “Sanyukt Prashikshan,” a pioneering jointness training program designed for Joint Secretary-level officers from Central Ministries and their equivalents in the Defence Forces.

Conducted by the School of Artillery under the aegis of Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) and Army Training Command (ARTRAC), and in collaboration with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), the program is scheduled to run from March 23 to April 2, 2026.

The training will be split between New Delhi and various forward operational areas to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of both strategic policy-making and ground-level military realities.

The program was inaugurated with a keynote address by General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), who emphasized that such initiatives are critical for enhancing civil-military synergy and fostering deeper integration across diverse domains.

General Chauhan reiterated that a unified front is essential for addressing emerging global challenges and is a cornerstone in achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

By bridging the gap between administrative leadership and military command, “Sanyukt Prashikshan” aims to streamline decision-making processes and ensure a more cohesive response to security threats, marking a significant evolution in India’s strategic defense architecture.
