ANANTNAG, March 23, 2026 — Authorities in District Anantnag have initiated legal action against a hotel management team in Pahalgam for allegedly concealing the stay of over 20 foreign nationals.
The move comes as part of a broader crackdown on local establishments failing to adhere to mandatory security and immigration protocols.During a routine security check conducted by the police in the Dehwatoo area of Pahalgam, it was discovered that 23 foreign nationals—including 19 British citizens—had checked into the Hotel Misty Mountains Laddi on the evening of March 22, 2026.
According to official reports, the hotel management willfully neglected to inform the Pahalgam Police Station of their arrival and failed to submit the mandatory Form ‘C’, a crucial requirement for tracking the stay of international visitors.
The police stated that this omission is a direct violation of the Foreigners and Immigration Act, 2025, and significantly compromises established security protocols in the sensitive tourist hub.
Consequently, FIR No. 18/2026 has been registered at the Pahalgam Police Station under the relevant sections of the law, and a formal investigation has been launched.
District Police Anantnag has issued a stern advisory to all hotel operators, urging them to strictly comply with all legal requirements regarding the reporting of foreign guests to avoid similar penal actions.
