Suspicious Blast Damages gate of Ex-Sarpanch’s House in Samba; Police Launch Investigation

SAMBA, March 23, 2026 — Panic gripped the Harsath village of Ghagwal in District Samba following a mysterious early hours explosion outside the residence of a former Sarpanch.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, has prompted a high-level investigation by authorities as they work to determine the nature of the blast.

According to official reports, the suspicious explosion took place between 01:00 AM and 02:00 AM at the main gate of the house belonging to Ex-Sarpanch Jai Ram Sharma, son of Bua Ditta. While the impact of the blast caused significant damage to the iron gate, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.

The loud noise in the dead of night created a wave of fear among the villagers, who were woken by the sudden tremor.

Immediately following the occurrence, Jai Ram Sharma informed the Ghagwal Police Station, after which a police team rushed to the spot to secure the area and collect evidence.

Officials have taken formal cognizance of the matter, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to identify the cause of the blast and the individuals responsible.
