International Trainees Complete Intensive VBSS and Small Arms Training at INS Dronacharya

Kochi March 22, 2026: In a significant move to bolster maritime security and international cooperation, the Harbor Training Phase at INS Dronacharya recently concluded an intensive training program for international trainees.

The specialized capsule course was designed to sharpen tactical skills and strengthen synergy between partner navies, focusing heavily on Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operations.

By blending rigorous classroom instruction with practical field demonstrations, the program ensured that participants gained a comprehensive understanding of modern maritime interdiction and boarding procedures.

The training reached its peak with hands-on sessions that included high-pressure “kill house” drills and advanced tactical procedures. These exercises were conducted at the state-of-the-art Composite Indoor Shooting Range, allowing trainees to refine their small arms proficiency in a controlled yet realistic environment.

This initiative by the Indian Navy goes beyond mere technical instruction; it serves as a platform for building “bridges of friendship” through sustained capability enhancement.

By sharing expertise in tactical maneuvers and maritime law enforcement, the program reinforces India’s role as a key contributor to regional stability and collective security in the maritime domain.
