Bison Division Conducts Major Civil Transport Mapping Exercise Across South India for National Emergencies
SECUNDERABAD, March 21, 2026 — In a strategic move to bolster India’s logistics resilience, the Bison Division has successfully executed a comprehensive Civil Hired Transport (CHT) mapping exercise across the southern states of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala.
Conducted in close coordination with civil administrations, this “Silent Civil Transport Impressment Exercise” was designed to assess and catalog available transport resources for deployment during national emergencies. By identifying and mapping civilian vehicle fleets, the military ensures a rapid and seamless transition to wartime or disaster-relief logistics under a unified “Whole of Nation” framework.
The initiative went beyond mere data collection, featuring structured engagements with major transport aggregators and local unions to streamline communication and resource integration. These high-level interactions focused on enhancing responsiveness and establishing robust coordination mechanisms between military planners and civilian logistics providers.
By proactively synchronizing these assets, the Bison Division has significantly strengthened operational readiness and ensured that the nation’s transport infrastructure is primed to support critical missions at a moment’s notice.
