Bhaderwah Market Crackdown: ADC Leads Intensive Pre-Eid Inspections to Curb Overpricing and Ensure Food Safety
BHADERWAH, MARCH 19, 2026 — In anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festivities, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah, Sunil Bhutyal, spearheaded a comprehensive market checking drive across the town today to safeguard consumer interests.
Accompanied by a specialized team including the Naib Tehsildar, Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), and veterinary experts, the administration conducted rigorous inspections of business establishments to ensure the steady availability of essential commodities.
The drive focused on preventing black marketing and overcharging, with a specific emphasis on high-demand festive items such as sweets, meat, poultry, and daily-use products. All shopkeepers were strictly instructed to prominently display government-approved rate lists to maintain transparency and fairness during the peak shopping season.
Beyond price regulation, the inspection prioritized public health and sanitation. A team of veterinary doctors examined meat and poultry outlets to certify that only fresh, hygienic products are being sold to the public, while the Municipal Committee monitored cleanliness and enforced waste management protocols.
Shopkeepers were warned against the use of prohibited plastic and urged to maintain a clean environment around their premises.
By conducting these proactive raids, the Bhaderwah administration aims to ensure a seamless and safe shopping experience for residents, reiterating that strict legal action will be taken against any traders found violating price or hygiene regulations.
