Crackdown on LPG Misuse: DC Rajouri Seizes 35 Domestic Cylinders in District-Wide Surprise Inspection

RAJOURI, MARCH 19, 2026 — In a major move to curb the illegal commercial use of essential commodities, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, led a series of surprise inspections across the town’s prominent markets today.

The drive focused on enforcing strict compliance with gas regulation laws, resulting in the immediate seizure of several domestic LPG cylinders being used for commercial purposes.

During the operation, the DC and his team inspected various food outlets, including a pizza shop at Salani Market, “Welcome Hotel” at Mandi Chowk, and Raju Sweet Shop, where multiple unauthorized cylinders were confiscated.

Beyond gas inspections, the DC also reviewed hygiene standards and price compliance, issuing a stern warning to all business owners that the use of domestic cylinders in commercial establishments is a punishable offense under the law.

The enforcement action extended well beyond the main town, as Tehsildars and Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) conducted simultaneous raids across various sub-divisions.

These coordinated efforts led to the recovery of 10 cylinders in Kotranka, 3 in Kalakote, and 6 in Rajouri, bringing the total district-wide seizures to 35.

The District Administration has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward such violations and urged the business community to adhere to prescribed norms to avoid legal consequences.

DC Sharma was supported during the drive by a high-level team including ADC Rajouri Chander Prakash, Assistant Director FCS&CA Rohit Kumar, and SHO Rajouri Gaurav, signaling a continued commitment to market transparency and consumer safety.
