Punjab AGTF and Haryana STF Arrest Key Bambiha Gang Associates After Gunfight

CHANDIGARH, March 19, 2026 – In a swift and coordinated strike, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in a joint operation with the Special Task Force (STF) Haryana (Karnal Unit), has apprehended two high-profile associates of fugitive gangster Lucky Patial.

The arrested individuals, identified as Rajan (alias Piyush Pehalwan) and Pritam Shah, are key members of the notorious Bambiha gang. The duo was tracked down and captured within 30 hours of the sensational murder of Charanpreet Singh (alias Chinni) in Sector 9, Chandigarh, which occurred on March 18, 2026.

Preliminary investigations also link Rajan to the high-profile killing of Yadwinder Singh, the driver of Jiwanjot Singh (alias Jugnu).During the high-stakes apprehension, the accused opened fire on the police teams, triggering a retaliatory exchange.

Both suspects sustained injuries in the crossfire and were immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Following the encounter, police recovered a significant cache of arms, including a PX 5 .30 caliber pistol, a .30 caliber Chinese pistol, and a .32 caliber pistol.
