Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps Executes High-Altitude Anti-Tank Exercise in North Sikkim
GANGTOK, March 18, 2026 — Demonstrating peak operational readiness and tactical precision, the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command recently concluded a specialized high-altitude training exercise in the formidable terrain of North Sikkim.
Operating at elevations exceeding 17,000 feet, Infantry and Mechanized Infantry Anti-Tank detachments were put to the ultimate test against a backdrop of sub-zero temperatures and oxygen-depleted air. The drills focused on the lethal deployment of anti-tank guided missiles, where crews successfully engaged simulated enemy targets at extended ranges with surgical accuracy.
This rigorous training emphasizes the Army’s ability to maintain a dominant defensive posture even in the most inhospitable mountainous environments on earth. The exercise was conducted under grueling, realistic combat conditions to validate the “Resilience and Commitment” of the troops stationed along the border.
By mastering the complexities of high-altitude ballistics and equipment maintenance in extreme cold, the units successfully fulfilled the mission objective of “One Missile, One Tank.”
This successful display of firepower not only reinforces the Indian Army’s strategic deterrence capabilities but also ensures that the mechanized forces remain agile and combat-effective in the rugged heights of the Eastern Himalayas, ready to respond to any national security challenge with immediate and decisive force.
