Assam Rifles Honors Heroic Sacrifice of Rifleman Nandan Singh with Wreath Laying Ceremony in Kohima
KOHIMA | MARCH 18, 2026 — Commemorating a legacy of unparalleled bravery, the Assam Rifles organized a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Unit War Memorial in Kohima on March 17, 2026, to pay tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Rifleman Nandan Singh.
The ceremony marked the anniversary of the soldier’s ultimate sacrifice in 1961, when he laid down his life while gallantly battling anti-national elements in the Mon District of Nagaland.
