GOC-in-C Northern Command,Lt Gen Pratik Sharma Reviews Counter-Terrorism Grid and Security Dynamics in Kashmir Valley
SRINAGAR, March 17, 2026 — Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, conducted a comprehensive security review today during a visit to units and formations deployed within the hinterland of the Kashmir Valley’s counter-terrorism grid.
During the visit, the Army Commander was extensively briefed by ground commanders on the prevailing operational dynamics, the current status of intelligence fusion, and the high level of synergy maintained with various sister security agencies.
These briefings highlighted the collaborative nature of security operations in the region, ensuring a unified front against potential threats and maintaining the overall safety of the civilian population.
A significant portion of the review took place at the Joint Control Centre in Budgam, where the Army Commander was updated on the coordinated efforts of multi-agency teams working toward the sustained peace and security of the Valley.
