Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden Opens in Srinagar: CM Omar Abdullah Inaugurates Tulip Show 2026

SRINAGAR, J&K | March 16, 2026 — Marking the official arrival of spring in the Kashmir Valley, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated the Tulip Show–2026 at the world-renowned Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden.

Nestled at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range overlooking the iconic Dal Lake, Asia’s largest tulip garden has been thrown open to the public with a record-breaking display. This year, the garden features approximately 18 lakh tulips across more than 70 distinct varieties, complemented by nearly one lakh other bulbous blooms including daffodils, hyacinths, narcissus, muscari, and ranunculus, creating a breathtaking tapestry of colors for visitors.

During the inauguration, the Chief Minister took a detailed tour of the floral expanse and extended a warm invitation to travelers from across India and around the globe to experience the valley’s unmatched natural beauty during the spring season.

To accommodate the massive influx of tourists, nature enthusiasts, and photographers expected this year, the administration has enhanced facilities for transportation, parking, and security.

The opening of the garden is seen as a major boost to the region’s tourism industry, setting a vibrant tone for the 2026 travel season in Jammu & Kashmir.
