No Need for Panic: DC Reasi Confirms Ample Stocks of LPG, Petrol, and Diesel Amid Shortage Rumors

REASI, March 12, 2026 — Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Kumar Abhishek, has formally moved to dispel rumors regarding a fuel crisis, assuring the public that the district maintains an adequate and steady supply of LPG, petrol, and diesel.

Chairing a high-level review meeting today, the DC emphasized that there is absolutely no need for panic buying, as current inventories are more than sufficient to meet the local demand. He clarified that LPG cylinder refilling is being processed efficiently within a 25-day cycle across the district.

To maintain this stability, the administration has ordered the formation of dedicated monitoring committees at both the district and sub-division levels. These teams, supported by the J&K Police and the Civil Supplies Department, are tasked with conducting regular stock checks and enforcing strict measures to prevent any potential hoarding or black-marketing of petroleum products.

In an effort to streamline public communication and ensure transparency, the district administration has established a dedicated grievance redressal cell to handle concerns related to fuel and gas availability.

Residents seeking assistance or wishing to report irregularities can contact the official helpline at +919419839557, where officers have been instructed to provide prompt resolutions.

Furthermore, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) have been directed to launch awareness campaigns to reassure the public and coordinate closely with local dealers to ensure a seamless supply chain.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh and ADC Rakesh Kumar, alongside SDMs from Mahore, Dharmari, and Katra, all of whom underscored the government’s commitment to maintaining essential services without interruption.
