JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra Condemns “Shocking” Firing on Farooq Abdullah; Slams Growing Lawlessness

JAMMU, March 12, 2026 — Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra has issued a stern condemnation following a reported firing incident targeting former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah and other senior political leaders in Jammu today.

In a statement shared on X, Karra described the attack as “deeply disturbing” and argued that such violence highlights a deteriorating security situation in the region.

He expressed grave concern over what he termed “increasing criminalization and lawlessness,” demanding that those responsible for maintaining law and order be held strictly accountable for this security breach.

Karra emphasized that the administration bears the ultimate responsibility for providing a safe and stable environment for all citizens and leaders alike.

He concluded his statement by calling for immediate measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents and offered prayers for the safety and well-being of all those targeted.
