Indian Air Force and Army Host Health Camp and Iftaar Gathering in Shopian Under Operation Sadbhavana
SHOPIAN, March 10, 2026 — As part of the ongoing ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ initiative, the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army collaborated to organize a comprehensive Outreach-cum-Health Camp at Chowgam in the Shopian district of South Kashmir.
This joint humanitarian effort aimed to provide high-quality healthcare services to residents in the forward areas of the Kashmir Valley, ensuring that essential medical facilities reach remote populations.
The camp featured specialized medical consultations, professional dental care, and the distribution of vital medicines, alongside mass screenings for common health conditions.
The outreach program went beyond clinical care, concluding with a significant community interaction designed to strengthen the bond between the security forces and the local citizenry.
Marking the spirit of the season, an Iftaar gathering was held with local residents, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and social harmony. This initiative underscores the Indian Armed Forces’ dual role in the region—maintaining security while actively contributing to the socio-economic welfare and holistic development of the local community.
By combining medical resources and cultural engagement, the IAF and Indian Army continue to build a foundation of trust and cooperation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Such efforts under Operation Sadbhavana highlight the military’s long-term commitment to peace and prosperity in the valley, proving that the strength of the nation’s defense is deeply rooted in the well-being of its people.
