NCC Naval Medical Unit Cadets Sharpen Marksmanship Skills at Vizianagaram Firing Range
VISAKHAPATNAM, March 10, 2026 — In a significant step toward fostering leadership and technical proficiency, 53 NCC cadets from the 4(A) Naval Medical Unit, under the NCC Group Visakhapatnam, successfully completed a rigorous small arms firing capsule. The training session, held at the specialized firing range of the Police Training College in Saripalli, Vizianagaram, saw these young trainees transition from theoretical classroom learning to hands-on tactical drills.
The exercise was designed to instill a high degree of weapon proficiency and mental composure among the naval wing cadets.Under the supervision of experienced instructors, the cadets were put through intensive modules focusing on weapon handling, firing drills, and advanced aiming techniques.
Each participant practiced precision marksmanship, learning the nuances of trigger control and sight alignment under pressure. Beyond the technical aspects of shooting, the range day emphasized focus, discipline, and teamwork, transforming a standard military drill into a broader lesson in personal responsibility and self-confidence.
This field exercise is part of the National Cadet Corps’ broader mission to develop “future leaders in the making” by exposing them to the operational realities of the uniformed forces.
By successfully hitting the firing line, the cadets of the Naval Medical Unit demonstrated their readiness to handle diverse challenges, proving that their training encompasses both lifesaving medical skills and the fundamental combat discipline required of India’s youth leaders.
