LG Manoj Sinha Inaugurates New ACB Headquarters; Pledges Corruption-Free Jammu and Kashmir

JAMMU, MARCH 08: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday officially inaugurated the state-of-the-art Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters building at Sidhra, Jammu, along with the ACB APKS Branch in Awantipora, marking a significant milestone in the Union Territory’s fight against graft.

Describing these structures as a “bold declaration of transparency” rather than mere glass and concrete, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that J&K has moved past a system that benefited a select few to one dedicated entirely to public service.

He called upon ACB officers to harness their constitutional authority to ensure every investigation and prosecution stands up to rigorous judicial scrutiny, noting that the “golden future” envisioned for the region depends heavily on the Bureau’s ability to earn public trust.

Highlighting that corruption is a direct assault on the lives of citizens—stealing opportunities from youth and security from families—LG Sinha urged the Bureau to adopt a culture of “speedy investigation” and “maximum collaboration” across agencies to eliminate delays.

The newly established Awantipora branch is set to significantly enhance operational efficiency for South Kashmir, providing a localized hub to streamline complaints and strengthen field-level vigilance as the administration continues to build an accountable, faceless governance model.
